| We ensure that our dive students are educated about marine conservation and the importance of the underworld for our future. Students can donate to Project AWARE when they get their certification and are encouraged to sign the petition to “Give sharks a fighting chance”.
We run regular beach and underwater cleanups. Koh Tao has many artificial reefs that are designed to rehabilitate coral. Ban’s has participated in the construction of most of these projects and is also involved in their maintenance.
As part of Save Koh Tao’s “Adopt a Reef” program, we are in charge of the protection and sustainability of South Sairee Reef. We have created our own private artificial structure, the Underwater Village, on that reef.
We are also in charge of maintaining and collecting data from one of Koh Tao’s 8 coral nurseries. This project is lead by Save Koh Tao, in coordination with the marine biology department of the Prince of Songkla University in Hat Yai.
